Sisters of Slaanesh

Sisters of Slaanesh

Some very nice models I had the pleasure of playing against. They're Sisters of Battle models, converted into something a little more Slaneeshi. The paintjob is crisp and smooth to say the least. One of the contenders for this year best painted in the tourneys, but Mortarions guys took the grand slam - won all three conventions. Well deserved too. I'll get into those guys a bit more later on once I get some decent shots of them.

You'll find a few more sisters in the shots from the nationals in my flickr collection (you'll get to it if you click on this picture)

The suckers

Suckers, or organizers, depend on your point of view. These guys did the 40k part of the championships. I must say that everything worked out rather well - the place worked out well, the food was there on time, the trash got emptied, there was no shortage of toilet paper, the list of matches were put up soon enough..

Nothing bad to point out means excellent work guys. Keep it up, was a pleasure to be there..

I got the beer, guys..

Post nationals, life is yet again starting to take form. After heading over to Gothenburg a few days early to touch base with my old cronies there, we went down to Lund - a small'ish university town in the south of Sweden. The place the nationals were held at was a tiny suburb outside of Lund. We managed to make at least one wrong turn every single time we tried to find our way out there again after getting some food.

I borrowed a Space Wolf army from Argos. He was highly amused when I told him I had apoligized about the seven (count 'em) powerfists in the army list before every single game. Managed to snag the 24'th place out of 44. Not too shabby considering it was a rather close-and-personal event with mainly the better players in the country.. (No, I'm not one of them)

I'll post pictures and stuff in the upcoming entries. I don't really have time - not inclination - to write up something gargantuan right now. However, it means I have material for quite a while, so check back every few days for an update..

The guy with the beer bottles would be one of the models from the Best Painted army, a Slaneeshi heavy metal bunch of marines made by 'Ooan. Said army won Best Painted at the three gaming cons that matter as far as 40k is concerned this year. Truly amazing stuff. You'll see more of them later on..
