This would be the work-in-progress ork bikers of mine. I need them wrapped in a month or so, so it's definitely time to get rocking on them. As opposed to most other pics on this blog, you're actually taken to Flickr if you click this one - to see some more Work in Progress shots of these guys.

Last vehicle for today. This would be the first wartrukk in the orky collection. I jokingly say it's the nicest wartrukk in the northern hemisphere - no burna, no powerclaw, only five choppas, nob included. As for style, it differs a bit from the other ones.

One interesting tidbit is that it's actually big enough to fit ten orks. Count 'em if you want..
Wartrukk

Another one of my bits-n-plasticard vehicles. On the upside, they're original. On the downside, I could spend some more time on the paintjob. Some of the details just get so bloody annoying, especially if the mold isn't the best to begin with..
New old pictures, at last

Went out and got a few lamps and some black cloth (at the local luxury overpriced mall at that.. at least the lamps were cheap) so I could get some model shots. These are gaming quality models - I like the modelling but do think the paintjob could be better. They usually get decent scores at conventions but I have a hunch that's more due to the strong color scheme than the quality of the artwork..

While visiting my old domains (the gaming club known as Ylva in Gothenburg) I noticed these beauties. They're scratch built drop pods, made out of plasticard, cardboard and pastipipe. The guy who made these is known as Roadkill on the web forum mentioned in the links section to the right. Just a pity all I had available was my crummy camera phone, but you get the general idea anyhow. Borrowed some Orks by a friend and played the army fielding the pods. Got lucky (bad scatter sent the terminators and pods closer to the orks than what would have been healthy) and won by a fair amount..

The orks are worth a mention as well. Have a look here - very nice stuff.

Okay, pictures seem to work as expected - i.e 'just fine' - so I might as well upload one of the few pictures of the army that I've actually got. It's blurry as all heck and was taken during SydCon last year by Cadde of Ylva fame. What you see is me playing against a Dark Angels army, sometime mid game. The thing in the middle is my battlewagon, which is of.. shall we say decent size. Decent enough not to fit into an Army Transport actually (slight misplanning on my end), but I'm fairly happy with it. Still need to finish painting it - it's kind of game standard painted now, but could be a lot better.

And to cover the FAQ right away, 1) That's the backsize of it. The front is semi-gargant inspired, 2) Yeah, it took a while to build. Most of the base work of it is plasticard, the wheels are mounted on a plastic sprue. Then there's one or two layers of plasticard, cardboard, balsa wood, bits, more bits, most bits, 3) Yes, it is very close to impossible to miss that thing with the center hole of an ordondance template no matter how badly you scatter. Yeah, it's not really a good thing when actually playing the game. Like most of my vehicles they're rather more stylized than functional..

At least there's some bad moons on a technically bad moons page now..

Life is keeping me away from my miniatures (visiting friends in another city, see my other blog for details if at all interested), but I figured I might as well try the new picture features of blogger to see how they work out - and most importantly, if they're any better than doing it by Flickr, my current weapon of choice. Did manage to get the Russ up to something that actually looks kind of good - it's not often that I'm happy about models before they finished (and often not even then ;-)

Anyhow the picture on your right is my Ushabti proof of concept model. Actually liked the color scheme enough to get a Tomb Kings army - it's assembled, awaiting painting - and has been so for the better part of a year. My current focus is the greenskins and getting them ready for a tourney in august, but after that - or seeing things realistically, close to christmas - we'll see..

The Ushabti in its normal habitat can be found at CoolMiniOrNot

First post..

This is the intended space for some pictures, work-in-progress shots and general ponderings about miniature gaming in general and my own plastic guys in particular. As the name implies, I'm mainly playing a Bad Moons Space Ork army in Warhammer 40k. It's by no means finished - although I did rack up a nomination for best painted at the one large convention it's been to and top points in painting at a smaller con. I like it OK - so much more that could be done, but it's taken quite a bit of time already so we'll just see what happens. I found that the modelling inspiration for Ork players out there is kind of limited, so that's one of the things I hope to improve by this blog.

Current projects include a Leman Russ, looted, plus a Mortis dreadnaught, also looted. I hate to bring a Russ to the battlefield - everyone + dog seems to do it - but it could be a good thing to bring against my colleagues. They play rather competitive armies and my usual list isn't one of those. Will post pics. Shall also get my thumb outta my butt and get decent pics of my already finished minis. Want some shots just in case someone would walk off with the Army Transport or somesuch..
